Genderless beauty brands

Is beauty the sole ownership of Women alone? The most highly debated topic of the town now. With more and more people coming out on their sexual orientation, cosmetics brands have tried to redefine their base from mere women-centric products to more genderless products. The beauty business is in a soul searching progress. Yes, beauty is never outdated or extinct. But it needs to travel beyond its existing precincts. Rather than limiting beauty to women and handsomeness to men, we are trying to figure out a way where nothing is stereotyped. Men are sold beauty products under very neutral terms like Fair and Handsome, grooming products, but is that it. Is it what men really needs or can aspire for? We have to repackage the rubric chosen for men. From grooming to beauty products. We surely have stopped associating beauty with fairness now and this is the right time to extend beyond that as well. With Covid came the topic of mental wellness, and Men do cry, or men ca...

How to Identify Skin Undertones for Your Skin

Do you know your skin undertone? No, we are not talking about being dark, medium or fair-complexioned. But the undertone is different from your complexion. Your complexion can change with changing seasons or climate, but your undertone, never. Haven’t you heard some of your friends lamenting or maybe you yourself saying that “Oh, I look so dark during Summer”? Fret not, it's just due to the Sun-tan that you lose your complexion for a day or two or maybe more if you are continuously exposed to Sun. Many women- just like you don’t know much about the skin tones and complexions and the treatments for your skin or the gigantic role it plays in determining the right kind of make-up or foundation for you.

So here we are, trying to help you identify

·         What is skin undertone

·         Why is it important to know your undertone?

Your skin undertone- the word itself gives you the meaning-something that comes through the skin from underneath its surface. You might think that fair skin can have cool undertones while dark skin will have warm undertones. But it is not true.  Any of the given complexions, be it dark, medium or light may have warm, cool, and neutral skin undertones.

Cool skin undertone: If your overall skin complexion has more blue, pink and red residues then you have a ‘cool’ undertone.

Warm skin undertone: If there are more peach and golden hues, then your undertone is ‘warm’.

Neutral skin undertone: Now that’s easy to find this, why? Those who do not have cool or warm undertones are said to have neutral undertones. Easy!!

What kind of undertones do I have?

You will have just one undertone – either warm, cool or neutral. Take the 4-level skin undertone test to find out your undertone.

1)Check your wrists for the colour of your veins, how green are they

2)Check your general complexion in a sunlit room, are you dark, fair or medium

3Check if gold or silver jewellery looks better on your skin

4)Check if warm colours, like reds, yellows, and oranges, look better on you, or cool colours like blues, greens, and purples.

How to find the right foundation for my skin tone?

Login to the Glow Green website and find the best shade for you. You can even visit our nearest store to identify your tone. If you don’t have one near to you, visit any store to find the best foundation type. Select shades that are closest to your skin tone and apply swatches on your cheek. Do they look loud?

Now try to apply the foundation colour that is one shade lighter than your natural skin tone. You would really want a shade that not only evens out your face colour but also brightens it overall. The warm and bright you.

Now that you know have identified your skin undertone, the next thing on your agenda should be finding the right foundation type and shade. What are you waiting for, login in to Glow Green and find the best just for you?
